As I began this newsletter, I became curious about May. As a Gemini, I have a strong connection to the month. The name is derived from the Roman Goddess, Maia. It is a time of growth and fertility. I’m certain that most of you have witnessed the growth that your children have demonstrated after a long school year comes to an end.
Here are a few fun facts about famous phenomenon (note the alliteration) in May:
May 5, 1862 Cinco de Mayo commemorates the Mexican victory over the French at the Battle of Puebla.
May 6, 1954 Roger Bannister is the first to run a sub-4-minute mile.
May 8, 1945 The end of WW 11 in Europe.
May 27, 1937 The Golden Gate Bridge opens to pedestrians.
